NetSuite How-Twos from NEO3 - File Drag and Drop

Aug 12, 2024 1:23:25 PM

Two Minute Tutorial

Attach Files to Records in NetSuite Easily!

By installing the free bundle File Drag and Drop, you can easily attach .pdfs, Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, image files, or any other kind of file to any transaction or entity record in NetSuite.

Files that get attached are accessible on the Communication/Files tab of each record. You must have access to whichever application is required to open the file. For example, if it is an Autocad drawing file, you need to have Autocad to open it. The maximum file size for individual files in File Drag and Drop is 10 MB.

File Cabinet Access and Folder Naming Patterns

All uploaded files are accessible from the record the file is attached to and via direct access in the NetSuite file cabinet. For example, you can create an automatic folder creation pattern by subsidiary and department to make it easy to find documents in the file cabinet. File uploads directly to the file cabinet are maxed out at 100MB.

Easy Vendor Bill Reference

Many of our customers will attach the original copy of a Vendor Bill via drag-and-drop for use in approval workflows and audit support. An approver can easily open the original invoice from the Vendor Bill record and approve it quickly, saving a lot of time in the Account Payable department.

Also, customer Purchase Orders can be easily attached to Sales Orders, allowing for easy order verification.

If you need assistance with this or any other NetSuite feature, please email us at info@neo3.com or call 866.423.6363.
